PREVENTIVE MEDICINE
Preventive Medicine: A residency training program that prepares individuals to manage the study and prevention of disease processes occurring in communities and defined population groups and the promotion of health-enhancing environments and behaviors. Includes instruction in biostatistics; epidemiology; health program planning; evaluation of behavioral outcomes and medical care; recognition, assessment, and control of environmental hazards, occupational health and safety; socio-cultural behavioral factors in medicine; prevention application, and assessment of population and individual health needs.
